Alma Thomas, a respected New York Times critic says, was "in love with new, in touch with old."
Pulitzer Prize-winning art critic Holland Cotter says such traits make the Columbus-born artist's work ideal for inclusion in the Obama White House.
Thomas (1891-1978) is among the artists whose works the Obamas have recently borrowed from museums in Washington, D.C.. Her art was singled out by Cotter in his weekend article about the temporary display of art.
