Tomlinson claims conservative past (1.30.10)
Here's how mayoral candidate Teresa Tomlinson answered questions about her connections to the Democratic Party.
The Columbus mayor's race is non-partisan and her work for Democrats is well known. Her political history also includes conservative Republicans, as she pointed out on Intown Columbus.com."A couple of things that may or may not be of interest:
I have contributed quite heavily to Richard Shelby (probably $5,000 over three
election cycles). I have contributed to Lynn Westmoreland, Seth Harp,
Richard Smith, Vance Smith and other R’s along the way. I worked for Sen. John
Warner of Virginia on Capital Hill and also was on the payroll for the
Reagan-Bush 1984 Re-Election campaign. I am a graduate of the Morton
Blackwell conservative leadership institute where I was sponsored by
Warner. I have seen politics and government from both sides of the fence. I
can get you pictures of me and Warner, if you will forgive my outdated
“do”. Anyway, those are the facts."
